Returns & Refund Policy
Last updated: 21/07/2026
At How To Wright, we take great care in producing and packaging our products. As many of our items are original, handmade, individually produced or created in limited quantities, we aim to keep unnecessary returns to an absolute minimum.
This policy explains when returns, replacements and refunds are available in accordance with UK consumer law.
1. Scope
This policy applies to all physical and digital products sold by How To Wright, including any future products unless a separate policy is provided.
2. Change of Mind
We do not accept returns, exchanges or refunds simply because you have changed your mind, except where required by UK law.
Where the law gives you a right to cancel your order, that right will still apply unless a legal exemption exists.
3. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Items
If your order:
-
arrives damaged;
-
develops a fault;
-
is not as described; or
-
we have sent the wrong item,
please contact us as soon as possible.
Where possible, we will always seek to resolve the issue by providing a replacement before offering a refund.
If a replacement is unavailable or cannot reasonably resolve the issue, we will offer an appropriate refund in accordance with your legal rights.
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
4. Reporting Damage
If your parcel arrives damaged, you must notify us within 48 hours of delivery.
When contacting us, please include:
-
your order number;
-
a description of the issue;
-
clear photographs of the product;
-
photographs of all packaging;
-
photographs of the shipping label; and
-
photographs showing any damage.
Failure to provide sufficient evidence may delay or prevent us from processing your claim.
5. Replacement First
Our preferred resolution is always to replace faulty, damaged or incorrect items wherever reasonably possible.
Refunds will normally only be offered where:
-
a replacement cannot be provided;
-
the same product is no longer available;
-
a replacement would not resolve the issue; or
-
we are legally required to provide a refund.
6. Return of Faulty Goods
Where a return is necessary before a replacement or refund can be issued, we will provide instructions for returning the item.
We reserve the right to inspect returned goods before determining the appropriate remedy.
We may refuse a replacement or refund where we reasonably believe that:
-
the damage occurred after delivery;
-
the product has been deliberately damaged;
-
the product has been altered;
-
the product has been misused;
-
the issue resulted from normal wear and tear; or
-
the fault was caused by improper storage or handling.
7. Return Postage
We do not automatically cover return postage costs.
Where UK consumer law requires us to do so, we will reimburse reasonable return postage costs for items confirmed to be faulty, damaged before delivery or incorrectly supplied.
If an inspection shows that the item is not faulty or does not qualify for a return under this policy, return postage costs will not be refunded.
8. Lost Parcels
If your parcel is lost during transit, please contact us.
Where appropriate, we will investigate with the delivery provider.
If a parcel is confirmed as lost, our preferred resolution is to send a replacement wherever possible.
If a replacement cannot be provided, an appropriate refund will be offered in accordance with your legal rights.
9. Digital Products
Due to the nature of digital products, we do not offer refunds once:
-
a download has begun;
-
access has been granted; or
-
the customer has agreed to immediate delivery and acknowledged that they lose their statutory cancellation rights.
Refunds may still be available where digital content is faulty, inaccessible or not as described.
10. Online Courses
Once immediate access to an online course has been provided and you have agreed to waive your statutory cancellation rights, refunds will not normally be available.
If a course cannot be accessed due to a fault on our part, we will work with you to resolve the issue.
Where the issue cannot reasonably be resolved, we will consider an appropriate refund in accordance with your legal rights.
11. Commissioned and Personalised Items
Commissioned artwork, signed books, personalised items and any products created specifically to your requirements are exempt from the standard cancellation rights under UK consumer law.
These items cannot be returned or refunded simply because you change your mind.
However, if a commissioned or personalised item is faulty, damaged, or does not match the agreed specification, your statutory rights remain unaffected.
12. Gift Vouchers
Gift vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash unless required by law.
13. How to Contact Us

14. Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in this Returns & Refund Policy excludes or limits any rights you have under applicable UK consumer protection legislation, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
Where this policy differs from your statutory rights, your statutory rights will take precedence.
